Magic Lantern Slide: Ezra's Tomb (slide)


This photograph by Alfred Rowden shows ‘Ezra’s Tomb’ on the banks of the river Tigris in Iraq. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He photographed scenes like this to record his experiences.
