St Lawrence Church, High St, Exeter (painting)
Descriptions
This painting depicts Exeter’s High Street complete with people and horse-drawn carriages. St Lawrence Church is in the background.
On 4 May 1942 Exeter suffered its most damaging bombing raid of the Second World War. St Lawrence Church, which predated the thirteenth-century, was destroyed. It stood near where Artigiano Espresso & Wine Bar stands today (near Boots).
