Victory medal and British war medal (medal)
Descriptions
The Victory medal and the British War medal were issued to all individuals who served during the First World War. The edge of the medal is inscribed with the name and details of the person it was awarded to, in this case “52358 Pte W. Tregale Devon Regt.”. Research suggests this was William Tregale who lived at 6 Horse Lane, Exeter and married to Charlot Anne Bartlett. Evidence suggests he survived the war.
