oil lamp (lamp)

Descriptions

This lamp was donated to the museum in 1937 by Mr Lightbody who recorded it had been found in Rome, but it is uncertain if it was indeed found there or if he meant it was a Roman period object. The shape of the lamp is the same as those most commonly made and used in Roman Egypt.

This object is not on display.
