gourd container (gourd container)
Descriptions
This gourd was produced to hold raw cotton to use with a blowpipe. A small amount of raw cotton would be inserted after a dart to aid the pressure applied by blowing into the pipe. Cotton cord connects the vessel to a small piranha jaw, which was used for cutting, and a thin bird bone for drilling.
It was obtained before 1866.
