priest’s hat (hat)

Descriptions

This hat was once worn by a costumed performer. It mimics a hat that was worn by a Daoist priest. Daoism is a religion of unity and opposites that is deeply rooted in ancestor worship. Its profound philosophy gave rise to debate through theatre.

This object is on display at RAMM in the World Cultures gallery.
