spoon limpet: pear limpet (mollusc : shell)

The pear, or spoon, limpet is so called because of its teardrop shape. It is territorial and known to actively defend the ‘gardens’ of algae on which it feeds. Pear limpets are found along the rocky coastlines of southern Africa.
