This ear-ring is a simple design made from twisted wire and is a type that was popular for thousands of years. It was described by its collector as ‘Small ear-ring of annular shape, made of twisted brass or copper wire. Probably found in Egypt’. It belonged to Lieutenant.
The artefact belonged to Lieutenant Colonel Montague who collected over 800 classical archaeological objects, which he bequeathed to the museum on his death.
