This chalk drawing by PH Gosse was probably used as a teaching aid. It depicts a species of rotifer (Limnias melicerta) or ‘wheel animal’. PH Gosse wrote a book with CT Hudson titled ‘'The Rotifera or Wheel-Animalcules’’.
