blade (blade)
Descriptions
This stone blade dates to the Mesolithic period and comes from Westward Ho! in Devon. Blade making was the most common type of stone technology in the Mesolithic. It had the advantage of producing sharp pieces of flint of consistent sizes and shapes. Some of these were then used to make microliths.
