This is one of a pair of ear-rings described by their collector as ‘Pair of gold ear-rings in form of rings. 6in. diameter, attached to gold wire which fastened them to the ears. Roman or Jewish. Found at Hebron, Palestine. They belonged to Lieutenant Colonel Montague who collected over 800 classical archaeological objects, which he bequeathed to the museum on his death.
