Magic Lantern Slide: Doorway of house (slide)
Descriptions
This slide by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows a decorative doorway in Mesopotamia, possibly Baghdad. There is a repeated geometric design on the wall around the door. The door itself appears to be wooden with eight panels of decoration. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He photographed daily scenes like this to record his experiences.
