African elephant (mammal: skull)
Descriptions
This massive skull is from an African elephant (Loxodonta africana). In November 1931 Dr WE Glover of Winkleigh in Devon donated this impressive specimen to RAMM. It is just one of 40 curios he gave us, mainly from Africa. The skull does not have any tusks and at some point in its history some prosthetics were made by the Northcott Theatre Company’s technical staff. Presumably they were used when it was on display at RAMM.
This object is not on display.
