Port Jackson shark (fish: jaw)

Descriptions

Staff-Surgeon B Gregory gave this small shark jaw to RAMM in 1870. This species is usually found found in the coastal region of southern Australia, including the waters off Port Jackson, hence its name. However, this specimen is recorded as coming from the coast of Japan which casts doubt on its identification.
