Medal for Tiverton Science, Art and Technical School (medal)
Descriptions
Medals were a popular award in Victorian schools as they motivated children to work hard and attain good results. This ‘Hadow Medal’ from a school in Tiverton contains images of the town with its river, church and castle. The detailed medieval imagery and Gothic script make it a particularly fine example of the Victorian Gothic revival art movement.
