Descriptions
John Maltby had an apprenticeship with David Leach at Lowerdown Pottery, Bovey Tracey, in 1962. He set up his own studio at Crediton from 1964. He used slab building as well as thrown methods of construction and used the effects of salt glazing in his stoneware. This slab built pot has loosely painted slip decoration.
