Descriptions
Born 1913 in Japan, Michael moved to St Ives with his parents, Bernard and Muriel Leach, in 1920. He turned to pottery from a teaching career in 1937, joining his brother David at the pottery in St Ives . In 1956 he began his own pottery in Yelland, North Devon. Among his apprentices were Clive Bowen (in 1966-69) and Harry Juniper (in 1956-61).
