polished flint axehead (axe)
Descriptions
This flint axehead would have taken a skilled worker many hours to make. It was initially knapped (chipped) to shape, it is exceptionally slim and symmetrical and so the maker certainly has a fine aesthetic eye. It was then polished to its final shape. This would have taken many hours as the only tools were sand, water and an abrasive stone.
