Descriptions
Born in Totnes in Devon, Wight studied fine art at Dartington College of Art from 1963 to 1964. She then studied painting at the Slade school of Fine Art from 1964 to 1968.
Wight worked at the centre of the printmaking scene in London, establishing an editioning and platemaking workshop for intaglio printing techniques called Studio Prints which ran from 1968 until 2011, where she printed her own works as well as those for artists including Lucien Freud, Frank Auerbach and Paula Rego.
As a visiting lecturer she established the etching department at the Camden Institute in London and she has also taught printmaking in various art Schools including The Royal College of Art, Cambridge School of Art, and Brighton School of Art.
