Descriptions

The dodo (Raphus cucullatus) was a flightless bird living on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius. It stood about a meter tall and weighed about 20 kilograms (44 lb). It has been extinct since the 1600s and the phrase "dead as a dodo" means undoubtedly dead.
