Descriptions

This spray was made in East Devon (Honiton) lace by Elsie Luxton (1909-1997). The design is that of a primrose. As with many Victorian designs, inspiration for lace was often taken from nature. Designs often include different types of flowers and plants. This spray would eventually have been appliquéd on to net to make a veil or flounce.
