A nummus of the type that weighed 1/96 of a pound. Made in AD 313-318 in Lyon, it is one of the earlier nummi from the Seaton Down hoard. The reverse depicts the god Sol. This is one of the rarest coins from the hoard. Only 5 examples are known and the British Museum do not have an example in their collections.
