Descriptions
This silver-gilt pin dates from the 16th century. The head is decorated with delicate ornamental wire called ‘filigree’.
It was found by Mr John Brown whilst metal-detecting near Axminster. Mr Brown took up detecting when he retired from a 45 year career in the Post Office. The pin was originally brought in to RAMM for identification in 1996 and was then donated in 2023.
