chestnut-winged cuckoo (bird: skin)

Licence: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/

Descriptions

The chestnut-winged cuckoo has very prominent chestnut-coloured wings and is an attractive member of its genus. It is found in much of Asia as either a summer breeder, all year resident, or winter visitor, dependent upon latitude. It is a brood-parasite of laughing thrushes and other babblers. Like many cuckoos it feeds on large, hairy caterpillars. This specimen came from Assam and was donated by Mr P. H. Maxwell in 1942.
