Descriptions

This work depicting the fruiting bodies of a fungus is a preliminary plate for ‘Illustrations of British Fungi (Hymenomycetes), to serve as an atlas to the "Handbook of British Fungi"’ by Mordecai Cubitt Cooke (1825-1914). It was published as plate 255 and titled Agaricus (Pleurotus) subpalmatus Fries on Oak trunk. Morehampton 1875.

Henry Bull either sent Cook the specimen or allowed him to use his drawing.
