Descriptions
Honiton lace collar assembled from sprigs made for peeress’ robes, said to have been made for the coronation of Edward VII in 1902. Incorporating motifs including the star of India (India was part of the British Empire until 1947), English rose, Scottish thistle and Imperial crown. Assembled by the donor’s mother Helen Elizabeth Pidgeon at Sidbury Post Office where she worked for her great aunt Mrs Pearson.
