‘Near Chulmleigh (Chulmleigh from the River Dart)’ landscape by John Wallace Tucker c.1862. The painting in oil on canvas depicts a figure wearing a red coat crossing a wooden bridge over a stream. There is a cottage on the lower hillside and a church on the top of the hill. Tucker was born in 1808 and was an English landscape painter who focused on local Devon scenes.
