Watercolour drawing by Richard Cresswell. Miss Aviolet bound all his fungi drawings into two volumes and wrote identifications at the bottom of the sheet.
Annotations: ‘on old stumps The Lodge Bishopsteignton July [?] 10, 1870 / 57. on very old stumps in the [?]. Many specimens in various stages of growth. Most of them slightly eaten by snails. these old stumps are almost always fertile in one species of fungus or another. Lycopodium pyriforme.’
