Sir Eric Dancer KCVO CBE KStJ wore this cap as part of his uniform while serving Queen Elizabeth II from 1998 until his retirement in 2015. A Lord-Lieutenant is the British monarch’s personal representative in each area of the United Kingdom. Their role includes arranging royal visits and celebrating the achievements of local people, communities, culture and businesses, and supporting the armed forces.
