aburianga (container)

Descriptions

A carved cylindrical container used to store ostrich feathers. Made by men from the wood of the Adadat tree. A white powder, Awurion (Pokot), is placed inside to keep the feathers white and discourage insect appetites. Kept in the first wife’s house.
