- This slide is part of a set depicting Rotifera, a microscopic water-borne organisms. They had belonged to John Stephens FRMS, a keen amateur biologist. After he died his wife donated his collection of microscope slides, lantern slides, and three bound volumes containing his notes and drawings for use by the University College’s students. Today this collection forms an important historical record of marine biology in Devon.
