Skyphos
- Description
-
This ancient Greek bowl was used for mixing wine and water. The images on both sides represent the god Dionysos with Ariadne, surrounded by maenads and satyrs. Both images are framed by large amuletic eyes. Its provenance suggests it was excavated by Sir Alfred Biliotti during his important work at the acropolis of Cameiros between 1852 and 1864.
