Moa

Description
Moa eggs are common in museum collections but few are complete and even fewer are whole. This specimen was donated by Miss Webber in 1899. The register entry reads ‘‘Portion of the egg of moa, much repaired, and a few fragments of the same egg from New Zealand Miss E Webber [Exmouth]’. The photograph shown here was taken in RAMM’s conservation lab while the egg was once again being worked on before going on display.
