Masi

Description
Museum donor Mike Dickenson was a former RAF Wellington bomber pilot. Dickenson later went on to join the Forestry Commission and was based at Fiji and Jamaica in the 1970s.
This cloth was presented to him and is one of two pieces of decorated bark cloth (masi) that came into the RAMM, with remnants of adhesive tape that had once joined the two. One half is the item documented here whilst the other half is in the museum’s educational handling collection.
