The photograph on this magic lantern slide is of a map of ‘Excester’, an early name for Exeter. The plan mainly emphasises Exeter Castle and the city wall. The slide was made by William Weaver Baker who had an interest in the history of Exeter, and probably used this as a lecture slide.
