- This photographic slide by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows railway trucks belonging to the ‘Mesopotamian Railways’ which have become derailed. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He photographed daily scenes like this to record his experiences.
