This photographic slide by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows the construction of a pontoon bridge across a river, likely the same pontoon seen in other of Rowden’s slides. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He photographed scenes like this to record his experiences.
