Magic Lantern Slide: Group of veiled women walking in street
- Description
- This photographic slide by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows a group of women walking down a street. Their clothing suggests they may have taken part in the Christian procession recorded in several of Rowden’s other photographs (see slides 45/1960/95/1067 to 45/1960/95/1084). Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He photographed scenes like this to record his experiences.
