- This photographic slide by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows a landscape scene with a route known as ‘Pelly’s Pass’, presumably named after the victorian Sir Lewis Pelly. It is a duplicate image of slide 45/1960/95/1095. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He photographed scenes like this to record his experiences.
