Magic Lantern Slide: Four men wearing local costume
- Description
- This photograph by Alfred Rowden was probably taken on part of the silk road though Iran, but he did not record where it was taken. It shows four men posing for the camera. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He photographed scenes like this to record his experiences, and was especially interested in local people, their customs and costume.
