This slide by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows his fellow soldiers at their barracks in Basra. The Ashar Barracks were housed in a building formerly owned by the Ottoman Navy. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920.
