Magic Lantern Slide: Ezra's Tomb, River Tigris

- This slide by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows Ezra’s tomb on the western bank of the River Tigris. This was believed to be the burial place of the biblical figure Ezra, and was a regular tourist stop during the British Mandate of Mesopotamia. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920.
