This slide by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows a local man walking down a street in Mesopotamia. It is one of several photographs recording local people Rowden seems to have been interested in the variation of clothes that the local people wore. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He photographed daily scenes like this to record his experiences.
