Magic Lantern Slide: Veiled woman and children in street

Description
This slide by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows a woman and two children walking down a street, possibly in Baghdad. The photograph was taken when Rowden was in Mesopotamia. He seems to have been interested in the variation of clothes that the local people wore. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He photographed daily scenes like this to record his experiences.
