- This photograph by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows two men wearing local dress. One of the men is sitting on a pile of brushwood, with the other standing to his right. The photograph was taken by Rowden in Mesopotamia, where he served during the First World War until he was sent home in 1919 or 1920. He photographed daily scenes like this to record his experiences.
