Magic Lantern Slide: Group of men sitting outside building
- Description
- This photograph by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows a group of men sitting outside a building. It is possible this image was taken in Baghdad as many of his photographs were taken there. Rowden seems to have been interested in the local people, what they wore and their daily lives, and took many photographs like this. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He photographed daily scenes like this to record his experiences.
