Magic Lantern Slide: Palm trees at bank of river

Description
This photographic slide by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows a river bank with palm trees. Some of the trees have ropes around them for mooring boats. It is likely this is the Tigris river during Rowden’s journey to Baghdad. He was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920, and he photographed daily scenes like this to record his experiences.
