- This photograph by Alfred Oliver Rowden shows four young boys posing for the camera. Rowden was in Mesopotamia during the First World War and was not sent home until 1919 or 1920. He photographed daily scenes like this to record his experiences, and was especially interested in local people and the clothing they wore.
