Bowl with incised decoration

Description
This bowl was made during the Cypriot Bronze Age. The two-tone black and red colours were a deliberate effect, the black colour made by restricting the oxygen supply when it was fired. The decoration was made by impressing either a fingernail or a small tool into the wet clay. This bowl was part of a collection belonging to a local amateur archaeology couple but unfortunately they did not record from where they acquired the objects in their collection.
