Fragment from an altar

Description
This decorative piece of stone was donated to the museum in 1949. It was part of a collection belonging to a local amateur archaeology couple who also collected foreign archaeology. In their catalogue they recorded the object as an ancient Greek altar fragment but they did not record where exactly it had been found.
